ORPHEUS – report 2026

PhD students from the Jagiellonian University Medical College Doctoral School participated in the ORPHEUS 2026 international conference organized by Semmelweis University in Budapest. This year’s edition of the conference focused on building sustainable interdisciplinary networks as a key element in improving the quality of doctoral education. The program included sessions devoted to, among other topics, the quality of doctoral education, international cooperation, doctoral students’ well-being, mentoring, the development of cross-cutting competencies, and modern models of education and evaluation in doctoral schools.

Doctoral students from our Doctoral School presented their posters:
Gabriela Lampart – “Interdisciplinary doctoral training in medical sciences, health sciences, and pharmaceutical sciences: the experience of the Doctoral School of Medical and Health Sciences at the Jagiellonian University Medical College”
Maria Barnowska – “Engineering a medical PhD: challenges, best practices, and institutional solutions for interdisciplinary doctoral education”
Sarah Duk – “Interdisciplinary and inter-institutional collaboration as a framework for enhancing doctoral training quality: experiences from the CORONA MUMS Project”
Prof. Marcin Waligóra from the Faculty of Health Sciences at the Jagiellonian University Medical College also participated in the conference as a representative of the faculty supervising doctoral students.
